How to set goals to become the best version of yourself

It’s that time of year when many people set New Year Resolutions in order to make a change in their lives. If becoming the best version of yourself is something you are interested in, these are some goals you might want to think about implementing to support you on that journey:

1) Get great sleep

Sleep plays such an important role in your physical health. It is a key part of a healthy lifestyle, and can benefit your body, mind, wellness and every element of your life. The better quality sleep you get, the more effective you will be in everything you do.

2) Surround yourself with amazing people

3) Establish an effective morning routine

4) Be a great listener

The more you listen, the more you will learn about others and the better friend you will be.

5) Review your values and beliefs and document them in your Book of Life

Try detailing your beliefs, values, principles, fears and dreams in one place to create your Book of Life. Committing this to paper will help you review what you truly believe in.

6) Improve your productivity

There are 168 hours in a week. Ensure you are at the top of your productivity game and making the most of each and every one of them.

7) Travel and embark on microadventures

Travel broadens the mind. Ensure you are getting out there exploring and seeing as much of the world as is possible. This doesn’t have to be limited to holidays, but also including how you get out and about in the week and the weekends.

8) Set personal principles to live by

Spending time considering  your personal principles will help you to clarify what you stand for, how you want to live your life and how aligned you currently are to that.

9) Reduce or stop watching TV

The less TV you watch, the more time you will have for other more interesting pastimes.

10) Display positive energy

Be the sort of person that oozes positive energy, it will attract other people towards you and ensure that you get the most from life.

11) Be considerate of the environment

Analyse what changes you can make to live a more environmentally conscious lifestyle.

12) Be nice

Practising some basic techniques to be nice to the people you come in contact with is of utmost importance.

Choose one or two of the key things you’d like to work on. Alternatively, try picking one challenge each month in order to tackle them in bite sized chunks to prevent becoming overwhelmed.
